5 things going on - April

1. Winter and Spring continue to argue.  When you think Winter has left, it comes back with a chilling reminder.  Quite frustrating as I want to get out into the yard and pull up some weeds and get the yard ready for re-seeding and planting.

2. We've taken a different approach to dealing with Gimli and his snarky hoarding behavior.  It's too soon to tell if this approach will make a difference, but the other methods weren't working.

3. I've been working out quite regularly of late and am slowly starting to see some changes.  I can now button certain pairs of pants, but not wear them comfortably.  I'll get there eventually, I'm sure of it.

4. We've finally put up some pictures in the ensuite. We just have to swap out the icky mirrors and get 2 proper mirrors and that room will be complete. The downstairs powder room is painted and now we're looking at putting up pictures and accessories.  The guest bathroom just needs pictures and that will be done too.

Downstairs will be a bit more difficult as we have too many pictures to choose from.

From a house painting perspective, there's just 3 rooms left to do.  My hope is to have them done this year.

5. I know last month I said I'd have some news, but not just yet.  I'm hoping things work out and provided they do, you'll hear all about it.

Goodbye Christmas tree

Remember when I posted about the Christmas tree that was hanging around the neighborhood?  Well, apparently the magical Christmas tree elves came by and took it away!

One day it was lying in the middle of the street, (yes, that totally happened), and the next day it was gone!

I wonder what else those magical Christmas elves can take away?

hmmmmm

Corgi in the middle

I've read stories in the past of being so in tune with your dog that your dog will vocalize for you in your time of need.  Sort of like Lassie and the whole, "Timmy in the well" thing.

Timmy tells Lassie he needs help, she listens and goes to find help.

I never thought I'd have a dog that would do that... until the other day. (And no, I did not fall into a well!)

I was in the kitchen making hot cross buns and I needed Mike's help.  He was in the laundry room using the tub.  Gimli was lying in the hallway directly between the kitchen and the laundry room.  Mike had the faucet running so he couldn't hear too well.

"Hey Mike."

Silence.

"Hey Mike."

Gimli woofs.

"Mike".

Gimli woofs again.

Mike didn't make the connection that Gimli was trying to get his attention, but I did and I thought it was kinda cute.  I ended up going into the laundry room to get Mike's attention.

I can't wait to see when else Gimli will speak for me.

I want Candy... or do I?

This past Lenten season, I gave up chocolate.  In all its forms - cookies, pudding, cake, brownies, ice cream, milkshakes, you name it, if it had chocolate in it, I didn't eat it.

This past weekend, in anticipation of being able to eat chocolate again, I purchased some Easter chocolate.  Would you believe I've only eaten one small chocolate egg?  It's strange, I don't feel the need for it anymore.

There, I said it... I don't feel the need for chocolate anymore.

There's a small container of chocolate sitting on the counter and it's probably going to sit there for a while before it's fully empty.  Will I ever eat chocolate again? Sure, but I think I'll wait until the craving is so bad that I'll give in.

Next on the list, cut down on sugar!
